And so it begins!

Up just a bit after midnight! (Shudder!) Funny how there's no traffic at 2:45, aka dark o'clock! I gett to Betsy's and I'm still playing with my phone when she knocks on my window. What a good friend to be awake at such an early hour, just to take me to the airport! I'm kind of nervous because I couldn't check in on line and I don't have a Jet Blue confirmation number. The tickets were booked through Turkish Airlines and their number doesn't impress Jet Blue one little bit. I've decided to trust in the travel gods and, sure enough, everything goes smoothly at the ticket counter. I breeze through security with my magic GOES number and am at the gate in no time.
This says we are flying on I Got Blue Babe!
Bonus points for Jet Blue
Gotta love a sense of humor
Life is good!
Here's a treat! There is no one else sitting in my row! And there are actual programs to watch on the little screen. I get to see Tig Nataro for the second time in two days! (She was live at the Tampa Theatre on Sunday night). But this version is actually a cartoon! And, even better, I finally watch several episodes of "Resident Alien" and it's as much fun as I'd been told! We have a choice of coffe, tea, or soft drinks and about the time I've nearly finished my ginger ale, the attendant with the snack choices comes along! The light is so dim because it's so early that I just point blindly at one of the packs and it turns out to be Goodie Girl Brown Sugar Cookies made with crunchy oat flour! I wonder what the other choices were! But these were yummhy!
I recall from last time that I will need a new boarding pass and ask the gate attendant what I need to do. There is a young woman listening closely and we venture forth together. Turns out she is going to Palestine to visit family and her fiance, so we have a lot to talk about and it is such fun! She's just graduated with a major in health services and is just lovely. We follow the directions to go down to the food court, turn left and follow the (numerous) signs to the PlaneTrain. We have to change from Terminal 5 to Terminal 1 and go to the Turkish airlines counter for new passes. It's about nine o'clock and they don't open until 9:15, so we sit and chat and finally queue up. Again, no problem! The young man even adds my TSA pre-check to my pass. My friend has it a litte harder because they messed up her flights yesterday, but it all works out.
There isn't a special pre-check line, so I just show the man my stamp and I don't have to do all the stuff that everyone else does. He asks me if I have any medical implements, pacemaker, etc! I guess that's how you know you're a woman of a certain age! Our trays go through one right after the other; but somehow mine doesn't come out right after hers! I don't know what happened; but it's all good.
a couple of the fun Jet Blue tails
We wander down to our gate and I settle in for the two and a half hours we have left before our flight and she goes off to charge her phone. So far, so good!!
Here's a new wrinkle! When I attempt to add photos to the entry, I just get code! No photo! I hope this doesn't persist!! AH! I was in HTML mode. It's all good!
Betsy, are you for hire??? 😀
ReplyDeleteMelodie, lovely pride and photos. ❤️
