Oh Boo! Last Day!

 03-15-2022

Just a quickie!  We had breakfast and took an Uber into town. The reception people are so marvelous at getting us transportation!  They tell us when he's coming, what make and color the car is, what the license plate number is, and the cost!

last indulgent breakfast!  My breakfast lady was sure I needed Nutella for my pancakes!

I've tried to check in on line but they say there is some sort of problem with one of my flights. I guess I'll just have to deal with it at the airport tonight.

I've been fretting about my PCR test because it has to be within twenty-four hours and to do that quickly here is very expensive.  I don't know what magic Ammar works, but when I'n through with breakfast, there is a nurse waiting for me in the back of the lobby!  She does the deed and about four hours later I get an email with my negative result!

We have a few objective today.  I want better pictures of some iconic places and Ammar wants shoes he saw for his kids.  And there are meds to buy because they are SO much cheaper here than in Jordan.  And there's a shop I want to revisit from the last trip.  I don't remember quite where it is, but Ammar finds it for me!

This is as close as I'll get to a shot of this sculpture in the middle of the round about!

My soft-hearted fella couldn't say no to this sweet old lady!

And her flowers are beautiful!

All the wall art is amazing!

Then there is a free lunch to collect at the casino!!  We ordered mushroom soup, shrimp, and a honey and walnut dessert.  We got all that and a huge California roll!!  Can't argue with that!  And when we're finished there is the casino car that takes us home for free!

Time for a little rest and then down to "afternoon tea", although all we want is something to drink. We've actually missed it and the young man is wheeling away the drinks cart, but Ammar convinces him to leave it for us. I have the semi-sweet white wine and Ammar has a Sprite and we sit and talk.  Then it's up to the reception desk to make sure that check-out will go smoothly.  I'm leaving at 1:30 a.m. and Ammar will have one last breakfast before he leaves.  Also, the adorable little girl at reception lets me forward my test-results email to her and she prints it out for me, even putting it in a plastic sleeve.  And she and Ammar talk about where he might be able to buy a chow-chow puppy to bring back to Jordan.  Apparently they sell for quite a bit more there!

Gio has texted to ask what time to pick us up for the airport!  And he says that for me (he calls me sweet Boss!) there will be no charge.  Obviously we will tip him extravagantly!  And he'll be worth it!

Just a few hours left in this idyll.  Sigh.  Home tomorrow.
