Life is Good!

 02-26-2022

We're actually up at about the same time!  That's a treat! Yoga and messages and such and we're off to find breakfast.  It's free at the casino!  We're still spending the casino's money, so we play a little and have a delicious Turkish breakfast and play a little more before going home for some rest and conversation. Along the way we stop into a pet store to see if they sell dogs.  They don't.

This is a little disturbing!

Enormous Turkish breakfast!

Our new home away from home!

I've seen several of these, so I need to know what it means!

Support is everywhere.

Isn't this the coolest entrance?

Such a sad little face!  There are street dogs, too, but I'm a cat person!

Just love the architecture

In the afternoon we go back to collect come free, early dinner and then go upstairs in the Raddison for a couple's massage.  Mine is Swedish and the lady has hands of steel!  It feels great until later when I realize that some of the pain wasn't just fleeting!  I'm sure it will be better later! Ammar opted for a relaxing massage and was very pleased with his choice.

The view from the 19th floor is astounding with all the lights on the river and the huge church in the middle of the city and the Biltmore Hotel next door.  And the spa is quite sumptuous. You check in on the 18th floor and then go upstairs to the 19th floor for your massage, in your bathrobe and slippers.

It's like a mechanical push me - pull you!

Georgian chicken with walnut sauce

Tarragon mushrooms with onions

The Tbilisi Biltomore

You can see the Holy Trinity Cathedral from everywhere in the city!

Part of the spa's decorationss

I've never had a couple's massage before!

Tbilisi by night

I almost couldn't find my way out again!

Afterwards we go back to give back some more of the casino's money;  but not much!  My cappuccino has a heart in it and when I have a glass of wine I also get a bowl of macadamia nuts and four little chocolate bars!  And before I can finish my wine my glass is whisked away and replaced with a full one! When we've spent our self-imposed limit we catch a cab home, because it's really too chilly to walk comfortably.  And because two glasses of wine is past my limit tonight!

Along our route we see several billboards with the Ukrainian flag on them and a group of people carrying flags that are the design of the Georgian flag but in Ukrainian colors. We feel perfectly safe;  but it is interesting to see all the support for the Ukrainian people.

You'll just have to trust me - they were walking away and our taxi was pulling away!

These are two different electronic billboards that we saw on our brief taxi ride.

We stop at the little convenience store across from our hotel and buy some water and snacks and then stop into the hotel office to chat with the owner and to make arrangements for Monday morning when we are catching the eight o'clock train to Batumi.  He is a very nice guy and his wife and daughter make up most of the staff.  Whoever made up our room the last time took the little flowers that Ammar bought me the other day out of the water bottle (it's all I could find!) and put them in a little vase!
