Snowing in the city!

I just love going to breakfast here!  Everyone smiles and acts like they are so pleased to see me!  And we actually have breakfast together this morning!  Reception calls us an Uber and we're off to the old city.  I've seen a wine bottle I want to bring home and it happens to be both the cheapest one and one of the ones with my favorite wine inside! And someone who shall remain unnamed buys a bath bomb for the jacuzzi!

It's snowing here, even though our driver said it wasn't, and we duck down one of the underground street crossings to get out of it for a moment.  There's a shoe shop there, among all the other little places, and Ammar finally finds a pair of shoes that he likes and feels is affordable.  I should say so!!  And now I'm not so worried about his feet getting wet and cold from the snow seeping into his Sketchers!

It's going to be lunch time in a few hours and there are still credits to burn at the casino.  And espresso and cappuccino to drink!  And lunch to order!  Lentil soup for Ammar's tummy which is better but not perfect, and a chicken wrap for me that comes with "Mexican potatoes". They're potato wedges with some spices sprinkled on top.

But it's way too cold to open the window in someone else's car!
Especially when it's a free ride!!


The casino's car takes us home, with a stop at a pharmacy for some Georgian dramamine.  I'm hoping that will let Ammar come with me tomorrow for the wine and cooking tour. And I'm hoping Daviti tells us what time he's coming!  He talked to George and found out that we went to the Sabaduri Fortress and he'd like some of the pictures!  Now I just need to figure out which site that was!! I was sneaky and told him that he can choose them himself tomorrow!!

We take a little rest and I play with my suitcase, hoping against hope that I can fit in everything!  It should have been easy, but there's the huge case of baklava that Ammar brought me from Jordan, and my Valentine's present that I hadn't figured on!  Woohoo!  Looks like I'm going to make it!

Around five thirty we go downstairs so as not to miss afternoon tea again!  The wine, beer, and soft drinks are set out and we choose a spot and indulge ourselves.  After a while Ammar asks the cute young thing about some food and like magic, we have another delicious assortment!  This time there is the added treat of tempura shrimp!  Ammar's favorite!

As we're talking Ammar suggests massages, since the ladies here are so exceptional.  They can take us at 6:30, which is perfect!  When we walk in, shivering from the cold walk from next door, my lady remembers me and speaks excitedly to the receptionist, who is all smiles! I think that's a good thing! I know the massage is a wonderful thing! She gets quite a kick out of my reactions and when it is all said and done we hug for quite a long time.  We don't have much of a common spoken language, but it doesn't stop us from communicating!

Back home we notice that we didn't get service today which doesn't matter except that we need water.  Ammar takes care of that which is good because I'm still pretty useless after my massage!!  Lucky I could walk home!

It will be an early night because we have our wine and cooking tour tomorrow with Daviti! Sweet dreams!

Oh!  Change of plans.  George will be our tour guide tomorrow, which suits us just fine;  he's a hoot and an excellent driver, which is even more important on these snowy, slippery roads! I guess we'll never meet Daviti;  he'll always just be a presence on WhatsApp!  (Guess I should go back and finish yesterday!)

    Yup those snow pictures could have been ours in MA last night! Today is sunny and 20 degrees for our trip home!

    The snow looks nice and fresh, not the slushy and dirty mess it will probably become later. The photos are fun to look at while we enjoy the Florida winter.

 02-26-2022 We're actually up at about the same time!  That's a treat! Yoga and messages and such and we're off to find breakfast.  It's free at the casino!  We're still spending the casino's money, so we play a little and have a delicious Turkish breakfast and play a little more before going home for some rest and conversation. Along the way we stop into a pet store to see if they sell dogs.  They don't. This is a little disturbing! Enormous Turkish breakfast! Our new home away from home! Oh Boo! Last Day!

 03-15-2022 Just a quickie!  We had breakfast and took an Uber into town. The reception people are so marvelous at getting us transportation!  They tell us when he's coming, what make and color the car is, what the license plate number is, and the cost! last indulgent breakfast!  My breakfast lady was sure I needed Nutella for my pancakes! I've tried to check in on line but they say there is some sort of problem with one of my flights. I guess I'll just have to deal with it at the airport tonight. I've been fretting about my PCR test because it has to be within twenty-four hours and to do that quickly here is very expensive.  I don't know what magic Ammar works, but when I'n through with breakfast, there is a nurse waiting for me in the back of the lobby!  She does the deed and about four hours later I get an email with my negative result! Home Safe

 03-16-2022 I had a really short nap and then it's time to get dressed for the airport.  Gio is due at 1:30 but he texts me at 1:10 that he is outside! It's cool and we are downstairs in a few minutes with my incredibly heavy suitcase and other stuff.  Ammar and Gio talk about chow-chow puppies and I pretend that I'm not leaving. It's never as easy as you think.  There's some form that the US requires and that I've never heard of.  Of course there's a lady who can fill that out for fifty lari and when we bring back the form I can have my boarding passes.  And my suitcase, filled with wine bottles, arak, baklava in a heavy case, my Valentine's gift, is overweight!  There's a first time for everything!  Finally we've cleared all the hurdles and I'm legal.  Ammar walks me to the escalator and ... time to go home.
